Leading international manufacturers meet in Hurghada for the Italgen (Italcementi Group) wind energy project. The Italian Group is ready to invest 140 million euro as a continuous commitment to the future growth of Egypt.
Hurghada, 12th October 2011.

Nine leading international wind turbine manufacturers have arrived in Hurghada to take part in a site-visit organized by Italgen (Italcementi Group) to present a new state of the art renewable energy project in the Red Sea area, which represents the first Foreign Direct Investment in this sector. The investment, estimated around 140 million Euros, envisages job opportunities and social initiatives to the local community besides allowing the transfer of know-how. The project will cover the energy needs of the Suez Cement Company plants in Egypt (whose main stakeholder is Italcementi Group), thus contributing to Egypt’s environmental goals of reducing impact on the environment and consumption of fuel based energy resources.

SCGC, in collaboration with Egyptian Food Bank, distributes foodstuff to thousands of local community families in the month of holy Ramadan
Cairo, 24th August 2011.

Cairo, 24th  August 2011. Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC) has, in collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank (EBF), distributed foodstuff to thousands of families in areas surrounding Helwan, Tourah, El-Minya and Suez plants in holy Ramadan. A number of SCGC employees have taken part in delivering food boxes for beneficiary families on the database of the Egyptian Food Bank.

SCGC in collaboration with EEAA announces the start-up of a new system feeding alternative fuels
Cairo, 8th August 2011.

Cairo, 8th  August 2011. Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC) has started the implementation of an integrated alternative fuel (AF) system at Kattameya plant, in collaboration with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAAA). According to its Environmental Policy SCGC is planning reducing the utilization of traditional fossil fuels by feeding its kilns with  AFs derived from agricultural waste e.g. rice straw or cotton stalks and municipal wastes.
