Cairo, 10 November 2009. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Rwanda, H.E. Rosemary Museminali, paid an official visit to Kattameya cement plant.he Marketing and Sales Director of Suez Cement group of Companies (SCGC), Mr. Nabil Francis, briefed Minister Museminali on Italcementi Group’s activities around the world focusing his presentation on the Egyptian cement market and thereby on SCGC’s business. The purpose of her visit to Egypt  was to cement the pragmatic cooperation in various fields and raise Egypt-Rwanda relations to a higher level in the spirit of deepening friendly ties and stepping up mutually beneficial cooperation. In this respect, H.E. Museminali informed that the Egyptian Minister of Investment, Mahmoud Mohieddin, will pay an official visit to Rwanda in February 2010 accompanied by a delegation of Egyptian businessmen.

During her meeting with Mr. Francis and Mr. Claudio Dealberti, Manufacturing Manager of SCGC, Minister Museminali   stated that in Rwanda there is a lack of adequate domestic supply and any increase in the local demand has to be met through import. In this regard, she stated that, in view of the construction boom that her Country is currently witnessing, cement is an important ingredient in the building and construction development. Therefore, she expressed her interest in making cement available and affordable in Rwanda by providing full support to the investors that will be interested in building cement plants in Kigali.
