Our Plants
Helwan Cement Company

Helwan Cement was established in 1929 and was the second cement producer to enter the market. Since August 2005, the Suez Cement Company has owned 98.69% of the company. Helwan Cement Company is home to nearly 2,000 employees and manufactures grey and white cement in Helwan and El Minya. The Helwan and El Minya plants are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.

Helwan Plant

Helwan Cement plant was established in 1929.  It is located 30 Km south of Cairo. It is the second oldest cement company in Egypt and the first plant that started in 1960 to produce white cement in Egypt.

The plant is located in an area of 1.000.000 m² with 10 production lines (8 in operation).

The plant is currently producing the following types of cement:
- CEM  42.5 R (according to norms  EN 197-1 and ES 4756-1/2005)SRC 42.5 N (according to  norms ES 583/2005 and BS 4027/1996)
- CEM I 42.5 R White Cement (according to  norms EN 197.1 and ES 4756 -1/2005)
In Helwan plant there are nowadays, 2 dry lines and 6 wet lines (4 in operation) for grey cement plus 2 wet lines producing white cement.

The dry lines I and II were inaugurated in 1985 and 1987 respectively each designed to yield a maximum of 4200 ton of cement per day. It also allowed decreasing considerably dust emissions during the manufacturing process.
 


El Minya plant

El Minya plant started the production of white cement in 1991. 
The plant produces
- CEM I 52.5 White Cement (According to Norms EN 197-1 and ES 4756-1/2005).
