Helwan Cement Company
Established in 1929, HCC was the second cement producer to enter the Egyptian market. HCC manufactures grey and white cement at its Helwan and El Minya plants.
Helwan Cement plant was established in 1929. It is located 30 Km south of Cairo. It is the second oldest cement company in Egypt and the first plant that started in 1960 to produce white cement in Egypt. The plant is located in an area of 1.000.000 m² with 10 production lines (8 in operation).
The plant is currently producing the following types of cement:
- CEMI 42.5 R (according to norms EN 197-1/2011 and ES 4756-1/2013)
- Oasis CEMII B-L 32.5N (according to norms EN 197-1/2011 and ES 4756-1/2013)
In Helwan plant there are nowadays, 2 dry lines and 6 wet lines (2 in operation) for grey cement.
The dry lines I and II were inaugurated in 1985 and 1987 respectively each designed to yield a maximum of 4200 tons of cement per day but now it is upgraded to yield 5500 tons of cement per day. It also allowed decreasing considerably dust emissions during the manufacturing process.
El Minya plant
El Minya plant started the production of white cement in 1991. The plant produces
- CEM I 52.5 White Cement (According to Norms EN 197-1 and ES 4756-1/2013).
- CEM II B-L 42.5N White Cement (According to Norms EN 197-1 /2011and ES 4756-1/2013)
