Cairo Sustainable Building (SB13) Conference
November 6th, 2013. Suez Cement is the official sponsor of the Sustainable Building (SB13) Conference that takes places under the auspices of H.E. Ibrahim Mehlib, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Societies on 6-7 November at Fairmont Heliopolis Hotel.
The two-day conference was inaugurated by H.E. Mehlib, Ahmed Al-Wakil, president of the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Mohammed El Sewedy, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Miguel Lemaitre, Head of the series of international SB conferences and a number of key experts from local and International universities.
Mr. Bruno Carre’, Suez Cement Managing Director, was the co-chair of the session “Building Technologies, Carbon footprint and new materials”. In his presentation he explained what is sustainability in building and presented Italcementi Group’ solutions for more sustainable buildings. Hence, addressing the audience he introduced Italcementi Group’s green products portfolio with a particular focus on TX Active and i.light.
The SB13 Cairo conference is part of a major international series of conferences that focus on sustainable building and construction. The series was launched by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction and the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment more than ten years ago and these partners were subsequently joined by the Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative of United Nations Environment Programme and the International Federation of Consulting Engineers.
