Suez Cement celebrates World Environment Day with Employees and their Children

Cairo, June 5 2009. On the occasion of the World Environment Day, Suez Cement group of Companies (SCGC) has marked the day through organising several events in its plants for its employees, their families and some of its stakeholders. The purpose of the events was to raise awareness on the importance of protecting and preserving the environment and, in the meantime, to remind the Company’s Environment policy and the  continuous Company’s efforts to protect the environment. 

Thus, the events that took place from June 5th till June 8th were also an occasion to present SCGC 2008 investments for the environment.

In this vein, Suez, Minya, Helwan, Kattameya and Tourah plants have planted trees in and outside their premises and presented a video on SCGC 2008 investments for the environment.
 
In an event organized by Kattameya plant on June, 8th 2009, SCGC Managing Director, Mr. Roberto Callieri, addressed a speech to Kattameya plant’s employees and their children. He stressed on the importance of environment protection, maintenance of green areas and reduction of water consumption. He also underlined SCGC’s commitment to protect the environment as a part and parcel of its business strategy.
  
SCGC has also co-sponsored a conference under the slogan of “Unite to combat climate changes” that was organized by the Ministry of Environment and took place on June,6th 2009. During the event, the Environment Manager Mr. Mohamed Ayman presented our achievements and the video on the investments that SCGC did in 2008 for the environment.
