Suez Cement honours Ramadan’s traditions and hands out 10,000 Kg of food in Helwan and Tourah communities 

Cairo, 18 September 2008. As part of its continuous commitment to ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility Programs and in the spirit of zakat, the top management together with the employees of Suez Cement group of Companies have started the distribution 10,000 Kg of rice and pasta in Helwan and Tourah districts.
"As a social responsible citizen, our Company is keen to improve its dialogue with the local communities. We are glad to be involved in the food distribution and have the opportunity to learn more about their needs." said Mr. Roberto Callieri, Managing Director of Suez Cement group of Companies explaining why the Company had launched the initiative.


Suez Cement welcomed Mr. Giovanni Ferrario, the new Chief Operating Officer of Italcementi Group



Cairo, July 15 2008.
On the occasion of the Board of Directors meeting, Mr. Giovanni Ferrario, the new Chief Operating Officer of Italcementi Group, visited Egypt taking also the opportunity to familiarize with Suez Cement’s management and gain greater insight into the Egyptian operations.
Mr. Roberto Callieri, Managing Director of Suez Cement, together with all the members of Suez Cement’s Management, warmly welcomed Mr. Ferrario to Suez Cement.

Partnership with the World Food Programme

On January, 30th 2008 in the presence of the Governor of El Minya, H.E. Gen. Fouad Saad El Din, Mr. Roberto Callieri, Managing Director of Suez Cement, and Mr. Bishow Parajuli, Country Di rector of the World Food Programme, signed a partnership agreement to support the primary schools located in Samalut district. As a matter of fact, Suez Cement will donate L.E. 1,000,000 to support the WFP in providing food assistance in the form of a daily breakfast snack as an incentive to encourage poor families of Samalut district to send their children to primary school.

Building a better future: Suez Cement supports the National Project for Housing


Cairo, 16 June 2008
As part of its social responsibility strategy, today Suez Cement representatives signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Minister of Housing, H.E. Eng. Ahmed el- Maghraby.
Under this Memorandum Suez Cement will support the National Project for Housing by donating 50,000 tons of cement and sell additional 150,000 tons of cement ex-work price.
