Mechanical Manager

Job Overview 
Ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of area of responsibility through the design and implementation of all mechanical maintenance activities to achieve optimum operational plan performance within agreed cost targets and time limits.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Develop analytical maintenance schedule of all mechanical infrastructure, and upon approval follows-up its accurate execution to ensure that the plant meets agreed monthly and annual production targets
  • Follow all mechanical maintenance procedures, evaluating their effectiveness and proposing improvements to enable the mechanical maintenance to function in an optimum and effective way
  • Identify the spare parts needs by ensuring optimal level of spares parts holdings and reviewing that all spare parts received are according to HTC and plant guidelines to maintain high operational efficiency of the plant and contributing to the continuous flow of production 
  • Manage modification and implement improvement projects to improve the plant operation by maximizing through timely and cost-effective repair methods.
  • Develop and control of the plant’s mechanical maintenance budget to provide the necessary resources to conduct preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities and to contribute to the cost-effective operation of the business.
  • Develop a long-term plan for the Mechanical Maintenance Department that is consistent with the direction and goals of the plant and company which must be coordinated with the plant management team toward the continuous improvement of the plant. 
  • Coordinate plant projects and shutdowns with overall large capital projects directed by HTC personnel to ensure the timely and quality completion of the project and minimize downtime.
  • Assess and obtain the technical expertise to assist the production, process, and maintenance departments in the optimization of equipment and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage reliability efforts for the plant and coordinate those activities required to meet the plant and corporation’s reliability objectives by Serving as a liaison between the plant and outside units regarding mechanical maintenance activities
  • Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts by managing the plant’s on call mechanical program which includes evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents after hours and on weekends while on call and may require on-site supervision of the resolution to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Implement Lehigh’s maintenance initiative and contractor management policy
  • Adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement as it pertains to the scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize grievances while still achieving operational goals
  • Liaise with all maintenance planning professionals for the preparation of preventive and predictive maintenance plans, including and major shutdowns and implement such maintenance activities, to minimize un-planned stoppages and improve plant reliability
  • Conduct regular meetings with the departments of the production to identify issues of consideration and proceeds to all necessary steps to restore operational efficiency 
  • Review and evaluate all activities of the mechanical maintenance function, including activities form contractors, providing analytical reporting of actions, results and cost to ensure all activities follow regulations and corporate policies to maximize safety and limit financial exposure, as well as assessing the efficiency of all members following the performance appraisal system  
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new investments within the plant to ensure all mechanical requirements are fully satisfied 
  • Motivate, develop and manage his team in to ensure high level of initiative, cooperation and personal development opportunities  
  • Collaborate with the MCC to analyse the SAP-PM notification to decide the priority and the requested resources.
  • Ensure safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by the Maintenance department employees and subcontractors.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any equivalent 

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in field of mechanical or project management 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy industry

Technical:  

  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance management methods of predictive inspection tools (SAP & AutoCAD)
  • Very good knowledge of cement products and cement production processes 
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulation 
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google software

Work Conditions 

  • Office work & Site work
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Occasionally exposed to hazardous conditions.
  • Occasionally be exposed to loud or distracting sounds and noise levels.
  • May be requested to work over times and weekends
