Shift Leader

Job Overview 
Overview and follow-up the efficient operation of the production according to schedule by supporting all personnel in their work, identifying issues of consideration and proposing improvements to support the plant to meet deadlines and goals in terms of product volume, quality and cost.   

Key Responsibilities  

  • Execute the daily production schedule of his shift by organising and administrating the technical personnel of his area of responsibility in a way that secures the optimum operation of all job positions and development of the required product within the specified technical standards and safety and environment regulations 
  • Develop and implement the shift schedule of the production, taking into consideration potential obstacles and difficulties, e.g. equipment malfunction or personnel shortage to correspond efficiently to the plant’s production targets
  • Overview the efficient operation of equipment and personnel to meet company’s operational standards (e.g. cost, equipment efficiency, timeliness of product delivery, effectiveness of personnel) by proposing and upon approval implementing methods of improvement
  • Develop the technical shift report regarding the efficiency of plant production, quality and engineering performance, informing accordingly the Production Manager and coordinating with the respective departments and shift technicians to implement corrective actions whenever necessary by ensuring the smooth operation of the production process 
  • Work closely with the Production Manager during running and major shutdowns and supervise the production cleaning and maintenance activities in the area of responsibility by ensuring that the implementation of maintenance and improvement activities are according to schedule and within targets 
  • Cooperate with other technical departments of the plant to exchange and communicate ideas and suggestion for improvement to enhance the work relationships throughout the plant, as well as increase the information flow of the current production process
  • Update the clinker manger with all work problems and needed feedback to maintain plant operational efficiency.
  • Participate in weekly GMP, sanitation and safety inspections throughout the production departments and corrects, or issues work orders to correct, any identified deficiencies to facilitate management decision making.
  • Direct requisitions for maintenance and repair of production equipment, and for machine parts and manufacturing supplies by recommending improvements in machinery and equipment and in manufacturing methods to ensure smooth production operation of the plant and the fine tuning of the equipment.
  • Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs      
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance 
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical engineering or any equivalent 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field

Technical:  

  • Advanced knowledge of developing measurements on production activities
  • Very good technical knowledge of the cement product life cycle
  • Strong knowledge of shift schedule development and implementation
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulation
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google software

Work Conditions 

  • Office work & Site work
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Occasionally exposed to hazardous conditions.
  • Occasionally be exposed to loud or distracting sounds and noise levels.
  • Work near others, often share the same office space with other engineers.
  • May be requested to work over times and weekends
